Hardeep Singh Puri – Union Minister:
In order to promote Agri-produce export, Govt of India has launched Krishi Udan Scheme, which provides waiver of landing & parking charges by AAI for Indian freighters & P2C (Passenger to Cargo aircraft).
The concession is available only if Agri-produce accounts for over 50% percent of total chargeable weight of cargo carried.
Amritsar Sahib, Adampur, Bathinda, Pathankot, Chandigarh & Ludhiana airports are included in the Scheme.
India follows a very liberal Air Cargo Policy. Foreign & Indian carriers can operate scheduled international cargo flights from any point in India, including Amritsar Sahib & Chandigarh.
Spicejet has also undertaken 14 Cargo flights on Delhi-Amritsar-Moscow route, since April 2020.
However, there was insufficient cargo aggregation at the Amritsar Sahib airport. I have requested the Secretary Ministry of Civil Aviation to call a meeting on this issue & provide all necessary assistance to the State.
