The politics of distraction spreads during election time. While focus should be on – Where will you get a job? – What will you do for education? – What will you do for the future of our children?: Priyanka Gandhi – Gen Sec, Congress

Priyanka Gandhi – General Secretary, Congress:

Casteism and communal politics will not benefit the people. This will not give you employment. With this, institutions of education are not being built for you. Those which have been made were made during the time of Congress.

The politics of distraction spreads during election time. While focus should be on – Where will you get a job? – What will you do for education? – What will you do for the future of our children? There should be talk of development.

I spoke to the NTPC candidates yesterday. Once there was a demonstration in JNU during Indira ji’s time. She didn’t get the students beaten up, she went there. The then JNUSU President said you resign, so she resigned immediately.

Right now the Prime Minister, the Government is not ready to talk. They beat & harass those who raise their voice. As you mentioned, even teachers are also being threatened. This should not happen in a democracy

NCC/NSS should help in keeping campuses drug-free: PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister’s Office via PIB Delhi:

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the National Cadet Corps Rally at Cariappa Ground.

The Prime Minister inspected the Guard of Honour, reviewed March Past by NCC contingents and also witnessed the NCC cadets displaying their skills in army action, slithering, microlight flying, parasailing as well as cultural programmes. The best cadets also received medal and baton from the Prime Minister.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister noted a different level of enthusiasm in the celebrations as the country is marking the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Prime Minister remembered with pride his NCC connection and credited his training as an NCC cadet for giving him the strength to carry out his responsibilities towards the nation.

The Prime Minister paid tributes to Lala Lajpat Rai and Field Marshal Cariappa for their contribution in nation building. Both the brave sons of India have their jayanti today.

The Prime Minister talked about the steps being taken to strengthen the NCC in the country in a period when the country is moving forward with new resolutions. For this, a high-level review committee has been set up in the country. In the last two years, 1 lakh new cadets have been created in the border areas of the country, he said.

The Prime Minister elaborated on the steps being taken to open the doors of the defence establishments for girls and women. He noted the presence of the large number of the girl cadets and termed it to be a symbol of changing attitude of the nation. “Country needs your contribution and there are ample opportunities for that”, he told the girl cadets.

He said now the daughters of the country are taking admission in Sainik Schools and women are getting major responsibilities in the army. The daughters of the country are flying fighter planes in the Air Force. “In such a situation, it should be our endeavour that more and more daughters should be included in NCC”, he added.

Noting the young profile of the cadets, who are mostly born in this century, the Prime Minister underlined their role in taking the country towards 2047. “Your efforts and resolve and the fulfillment of those resolutions will be the achievement and success of India”, he said.

The Prime Minister said no power of the world can stop the country whose youth starts moving ahead with the thinking of nation first. India’s success in the playfield and the startup ecosphere exemplify this very clearly, the Prime Minister said. In the Amrit Kaal i.e. from today to the next 25 years, the Prime Minister urged the cadets to combine their aspirations and actions with the development and expectations of the country.

The Prime Minister also underlined the major role that today’s youngsters can play in the ‘vocal for local’ campaign. “If today’s youth resolves to use only those goods that have been created with the labour and sweat of an Indian, India’s destiny can be transformed”, he emphasized.

The Prime Minister remarked that today on the one hand there are good possibilities related to digital technology and information, on the other hand, there are dangers of misinformation. He stressed that it is also necessary that the common man of our country should not fall prey to any rumour. He proposed that NCC cadets run an awareness campaign for this.

The Prime Minister stressed that drugs should not reach the school/college where there is NCC or NSS. He advised the cadets to be free from drugs themselves and at the same time keep their campus free from drugs. Help the friends who are not in NCC-NSS to give up this bad habit too, he stressed.

The Prime Minister asked the cadets to get associated with Self4Society portal which is working to give new energy to collective efforts of the country. More than 7 thousand organizations and 2.25 lakh people are associated with the portal.

Aaditya Thackeray – Minister, Maharashtra Govt. :

A few weeks ago, I came across this news piece showing the frightening amount of risk the Adivasi women in Shendripada had to take to fetch water.

Within 2 days, we installed a sturdy bridge for them, but this was just half the battle won.

Thanks to Water Supply Min Gulabrao Patil ji, all 13 hamlets would get water through taps under the Jal Jeevan Mission within 3 months.

I also had the opportunity to inaugurate Solar Dual Water Pumping Project installed using MP Hemant Godse ji’s funds.

These are some unheard voices that we need to pay attention to & work on while fulfilling our sustainable development goals.

I was accompanied by Min Dadaji Bhuse ji, MP Hemant Ghodse ji, Former MLA Nirmal Tai Gavit & local MLAs.

In four sectors – liquor, mining, transport, cable – there is thousands of crores of public money which doesn’t reach you. We do not want evolution. We need revolution: Rahul Gandhi – Fmr Cong. President

Rahul Gandhi – Former Congress President:

Punjab is not just a state for us, it is an ideology, it is a thought. Punjab is a brotherhood. This is a very important symbol for us and our ideology.

Congress is not just a political party. There are many political parties in the country. Congress is an ideology. It is an ideology that defeated the British & built this nation. We are all one in the ideology of Congress.

According to Congress’s ideology, the power lies with the people. We want to hand over the power to the people.

The biggest industrialists in the country do not provide as much employment as the small shopkeepers and MSMEs. Small shopkeepers, small & medium businesspeople suffer from the policies of this government, while the rich people benefit.

How do we decentralise the power in Punjab? First of all, in four sectors (liquor, mining, transport, cable) there is thousands of crores of public money which doesn’t reach you. We do not want evolution. We need revolution.

The BEST double-decker, now electric! : Aaditya Thackeray – Minister, Maha. Govt.

Aaditya Thackeray – Minister, Maharashtra Govt. :

The BEST double-decker, now electric!

CM Uddhav Thackeray and I have been personally keen on reviving Mumbai’s iconic double-decker buses.

While doing so, the BEST is procuring 900 of them, fully electric and emission-free. As we increase our BEST fleet, ultimately to 10,000 electric/clean alternate fuel buses, our aim is to have maximum double-decker buses, as this increases our capacity.

I thank BEST chairman Ashis Chemburkar ji, GM Lokesh Chandra ji, and the committee of BEST for honouring our suggestion.

Along with Mumbai, I have requested municipal commissioners of other cities who are procuring electric buses to also add double-decker electric buses into their fleets on busy routes.

Rumours of my resignation from Trinamool Congress are false, mischievous & malicious: Luizinho Faleiro – Former CM, Goa

Luizinho Faleiro – Former CM, Goa:

Rumours of my resignation from Trinamool Congress are false, mischievous & malicious.

This is propaganda being spread by those rattled by the support & blessings that the people of Goa have showered on my party.

Goa TMC is the only party that will fight for Goa & emerge victorious!

I embraced TMC to fight BJP and their juggernaut and I will not back down from this fight.

As a disciplined man, I will continue to work hard till the BJP is defeated. I have full faith that the Goa TMC will bring in the new dawn that every Goan is eagerly awaiting!

In the recent months, I have witnessed remarkable examples of our people strengthening the country and the society through their commitment and action: President Kovind

In the recent months, I have witnessed remarkable examples of our people strengthening the country and the society through their commitment and action in diverse areas.

However, I will mention only two such instances.

India is now counted among the world’s leading naval powers: President Kovind

The dedicated teams of the Indian Navy and Cochin Shipyard Limited have built an indigenous state-of-the-art aircraft carrier IAC Vikrant which is to be inducted into our Navy.

Due to such modern military capabilities, India is now counted among the world’s leading naval powers.

Writing in 1930, Mahatma Gandhi had advised fellow citizens how ‘Purna Swaraj Day’ was to be celebrated: President Kovind

Writing in 1930, Mahatma Gandhi had advised fellow citizens how ‘Purna Swaraj Day’ was to be celebrated.

Gandhiji’s advice is timeless.

He would have liked us to celebrate the Republic Day in the same manner.
