We are working on mission mode to establish a cumulative 10,000 CNG stations and 5 crore PNG connections in the next 5-7 years : Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan virtually inaugurates & dedicates to the Nation MNGL’s 100th CNG station

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Petroleum Minister :

Inaugurated and dedicated to the nation 5 CNG fuelling stations of Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd in Pune & Nashik. With the addition of these new CNG stations, the total number of CNG stations of MNGL has now reached 100.

I also congratulate MNGL on the commencement of civil work at LNG station in Nashik, commencement of CNG supply to buses in Nashik and on the launch of another pioneering initiative for CNG distribution to unserved areas in Pune through Mobile Refuelling Unit.

These new initiatives and milestones will augment supply of CNG and other green fuels for transportation to consumers in the areas adjoining Pune and Nashik, help cut emissions and also make these cities green and clean.

I am happy that with the dedication of these 5 CNG stations today, the country now has a network of about 2500 CNG stations, almost double the number of CNG stations that was in the country until May 2014. This is huge testimony of the speed and scale of Modi Govt.

We are working on mission mode to establish a cumulative 10,000 CNG stations and 5 crore PNG connections in the next 5-7 years. Urge all the CGD entities and oil marketing companies to continue working hard in order to achieve these milestones earlier than the promised time.

Also, urged Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd. to establish a compressed bio-gas plant under SATAT in Nashik, a major agricultural hotspot.

This will provide additional revenue to farmers by remunerating them for agricultural waste and create employment opportunities in the waste-to-energy value chain.
