Taking a giant leap towards fulfilling the great vision of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji — doubling farmers’ income by 2022, ceremonially started the distribution of Pumps to farmers under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) at Amingaon.
Under the scheme, 9,699 pumps will be distributed, benefitting 35,793 farmers of Assam for which ₹ 539.05 crore has been sanctioned.
These pumping systems will play a vital role in providing modern irrigation to 3 lakh bigha agricultural land, thus increasing productivity.
Modern agriculture requires irrigation solutions for optimum use of water resources.
Our Govt has been constantly working on empowering the farmers with state-of-the-art equipments & latest technology to leverage full potential of agriculture to transform rural areas.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji today launched important projects:
financial aid to 8,000 Namghar,
development of Batadrava Than and
laid the foundation stones of Guwahati’s 2nd Medical College & 9 Law Colleges.

Marking a new era for agar production and trade, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone of Assam Agar International Trade Centre at Dabidubi, Golaghat.
Once completed, the centre will provide an environment of investment in agar wood, boosting Assam’s economy.
The oil produced from agar wood has high demand across the world. I believe this centre will help facilitate trade & commerce activities with agar wood, going a long way in empowering our agar cultivators and making them Atma Nirbhar
As a tribute to freedom fighter Swahid Kushal Konwar, our Govt has decided to rename the Assam Agar International Trade Centre after the legend of India’s Independence movement

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal ceremonially opened the doors of Kaziranga National Park for tourists for the 2020-21 season at Mihimukh and took a Jeep safari in the Kohora range of the National Park.
Tourists can visit the Kaziranga National Park following Govt COVID19 protocols.
Jeep safari is available from today while elephant safari starts from November.
