Commenced works for the first-ever Mangrove Park in Gorai: Aaditya Thackeray

Mumbai is the only megacity that has over 50 kms of Mangroves Coverage.

We are committed to it’s conservation and to the creation of awareness of this natural wealth.

Furthering this goal, we commenced works for the first-ever Mangrove Park in Gorai.

Spread across 8 hectares, this park will include Boardwalk, Kayaking, Nature Trail, among other attractions.

Set to open by 2023, this park will boost our conservation efforts & transform eco-tourism industry in Maharashtra.

Plans are being worked to replicate this in Dahisar too

He advised the Public Health Department to keep in regular touch with GoI regarding updates on the vaccination of children and ensure prompt arrangements once approvals are given to the state.

Restrictions are being gradually eased as the number of COVID cases is on the decline.

Amusement parks, auditoriums, and theaters will be opened from October 22nd.

Guidelines for extending the hours of restaurants and shops across the state will be out soon.

Even after 100 years since its inception, Nair Hospital continues to serve the city and its people. It has witnessed many life-changing stories, events, epidemics, and now, a pandemic. Through all this, Nair Hospital has continued to be a healer for many!

Today, we also released ‘Covid Reminisces’ book by BMC and launched a Student Exchange Program with Cardiff, along with a Clinical Skills Laboratory.

This morning we commenced the work of the viewing deck at Tambe Chowk, Girgaon, on top of a drain outfall.

The deck (as shown in the artist’s impression) will come up in 4 months and will be open as an urban space for all.

A similar one is coming up in Dadar.

I thank Assistant Comm Prashant N Gaikwad ji for his initiative.

On our multiple visits, he evolved the plan with urban planners for the same.

Maharashtra Cabinet approved the formation of State Council for Climate Change: Aaditya Thackeray

Today Maharashtra Environment and Climate Change Dept. presented the report of The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to the Cabinet.

We recognise the importance of climate change mitigation and adaptation, and the need to act now.

Cabinet approved the formation of State Council for Climate Change – to be chaired by the Chief Minister

I’m about a month’s time, the Maharashtra Environment and Climate Change Dept. would formulate an climate action plan for our colleague depts like Energy, Transport, UD, Industry etc and seek Cabinet’s approval for the same.

The State Council for Climate Change would monitor & present progress to Cabinet each month

We look forward to interacting with climate scientists, experts, enthusiasts globally while we make progress in the climate action plan.

The time to act is now, and we hope many other states join in.

The State Cabinet has decided that the stamp duty for the registration of flats built under the BDD Chawls redevelopment project shall be lowered to just ₹1,000.

MHADA shall bear this amount to ensure that the residents do not have to take the financial burden.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi Govt is taking the long-pending project from the drawing board to fruition.

Enhanced facilities at MTDC Sinhagad Resort, giving the visitors a chance to explore the glory of Sinhagad Fort in all its regalia. Special provisions were made for the trekkers who frequent the fort.

Following the enthusiastic reception of Nashik Boat Club, Ganpatipule Boat Club is set to welcome tourists with thrilling aquatic sports and charming beach shacks!

The ‘RTDS system,’ which can issue flooding alerts for the 26 river basins in the Konkan, must be operationalised at the earliest: Uddhav Thackeray

CMO Maharashtra:

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray gave the following instructions after holding a meeting to review the flood situation in Maharashtra and the damages caused by the torrential rains;

• Electricity and water supply in the flood-affected areas must be restored immediately.

• Damaged roads and bridges must be repaired on a war footing to restart the flow of traffic.

• Ensure cleanliness and health services to prevent epidemics.

• A detailed and objective report to be submitted on the damages caused and the aid to be given.

• The details of the damages caused to shopkeepers and the traders must be collected. A plan must be prepared regarding the aid from various State and Central schemes.

• It is necessary to develop infrastructure like retaining walls and identify vulnerable areas to ensure that such disasters do not recur.

• A plan for operationalizing a centre of the SDRF, which is modelled on lines of the NDRF, must be prepared for every district.

• The ‘RTDS system,’ which can issue flooding alerts for the 26 river basins in the Konkan, must be operationalised at the earliest.

• Sites must be identified for rehabilitating disaster-prone settlements.
