We have been pushing for a desalination plant for Mumbai : Aaditya Thackeray

Aaditya Thackeray, President, Yuva Sena :

This morning, a series of meetings that I held, included most importantly a discussion with BMC authorities on the progress of Mithi river sustainable development and open public spaces around it, holding ponds and mangrove protection in the vicinity.

We also discussed further on the progress of the Hind Mata water logging relief work and storm water drain planning along with holding tanks and aquifers for monsoon time.

We have been pushing for a desalination plant for Mumbai because of which we would be able to have a dependent source of drinking water despite irregular rainfall patterns and avoid water cuts.

It was brought to my notice through the media, a letter written by the Governor of Maharashtra to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra: Sharad Pawar

Sharad Pawar – President, NCP:

It was brought to my notice through the media, a letter written by the Governor of Maharashtra to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra

In this letter the Governor has sought the intervention of the Chief Minister to open up religious places for the public.

In the very Preamble of our Constitution the word ‘Secular’ is added that equates and shields all religions and hence the Chair of the Chief Minister must uphold such tenets of the Constitution.

Unfortunately Governor’s letter to the Chief Minister invokes the connotation as if written to the leader of a political party.

I was backed by Ministers Dr Jitendra Awhad ji & Aslam Shaikh ji. The cabinet has decided to withdraw these cases.

I thank CM sir, DCM sir, HM sir for support.

These were citizens/ protestors standing for the future of our planet.

To hold them from stopping desired work was one thing but to press police charges was another.

I thank all the cabinet colleagues of the MVA Government for prioritising and realising the importance of sustainable development and green governance and supporting such issues.

It was Congress Govt in Maharashtra which enacted a law for contract farming in 2006: Devendra Fadnavis

Devendra Fadnavis – Former CM Maharashtra:

Addressed media on the Farm Bills passed by Parliament.

These are historic, long awaited reforms which fulfil recommendations by Dr MS Swaminathan Commission.

These bills aim to give better prices to farm produce, market & more business opportunities so that farmers can earn more.

Interstate trade of agricultural produce will be much easier creating one nation-one market.

It was Congress Govt in Maharashtra which enacted a law for contract farming in 2006.

Even congress 2019 manifesto speaks the same but now they are spreading misinformation.
