  • In the wake of rise in Covid-19 cases in some parts of the world due to new variants, held a meeting with the experts of the Covid-19 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to discuss about the precautionary measures to be taken in the state.

  • TAC has advised strict screening of travellers arriving from 8 countries, mandatory quarantine of 7-10 days, special focus on kids and random testing of 5,000 children in the age group that is not yet eligible for vaccine. Govt will soon release guidelines in this regard.

  • I urge all eligible citizens to get their second dose and precaution dose as per schedule to ensure additional layer of protection.

  • Let’s continue to wear mask, ensure hand hygiene, social distancing & follow covid appropriate behaviour. Together we can defeat the pandemic.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai disclosed this during his reply to Budget 2022-23 discussions in the Legislative Assembly today.

1. Two doses of vaccine mandatory to visit malls and cinema theatres.

2. Attendance at gatherings, meetings, conferences, etc capped at 500.

3. No events at educational institutions till Jan 15.

4. Two doses of vaccine mandatory for parents of <18 children to visit schools.

5. A fine of Rs 250 for not wearing mask in cities.

6. Mandatory two doses of vaccines for all Govt. employees.
