PM has FINALLY listened to us & implemented what we’ve been asking all this while: Mamata Banerjee

Back in Feb ’21 & multiple times thereafter, I’d written to the PM stating our long standing demand to provide vaccines to ALL for FREE.

Took him 4 months but after much pressure, he has FINALLY listened to us & implemented what we’ve been asking all this while.

The well-being of the people of India should’ve been prioritized since the very start of this pandemic.

Unfortunately, this delayed decision by PM has already cost many lives. Hoping for a better managed Vaccination Drive this time that focuses on people & not propaganda!

We have Rs.100 cr plan to begin with: 90 cr from Congress MLA/MLC funds & 10 cr from INC Karnataka party funds. We need immediate permission to procure vaccines: DK Shivakumar

DK Shivakumar – President, Karnataka Congress:

Since Modi & Yediyurappa Govts have failed to vaccinate most of Karnataka months after vaccine manufacturing began, INC Karnataka has decided we are ready to vaccinate people ourselves. We need immediate permission to procure vaccines.

INCKarnataka wants to show Modi-Yediyurappa that it is possible to quickly vaccinate the masses.

We just need permission to procure & to use MLA/MLC development funds to buy vaccines. Since they can’t do it, they should let us do it.

We have Rs.100 cr plan to begin with: 90 cr from Congress MLA/MLC funds & 10 cr as per INC Karnataka’s commitment from party funds.

More shall be raised from public donations & by tying up with hospitals & clinics to administer jabs.

Currently, the rules allow only state governments, hospitals and industries to procure vaccines in India.

In the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Karnataka Congress should be allowed to procure directly from vaccine makers as well.

Congress Party would like permission to directly approach vaccine makers across the world and procure them.

We will show that we can do the vaccination drive better and faster than Modi and Yediyurappa together are able to.

The Karnataka government is only now floating global tenders with regard to local manufacturing.

Had these initiatives been taken months ago, so many lives would have been saved!

INC Karnataka appeals to PM Narendra Modi and CM BS Yediyurappa not to let politics come in the way & to allow us to procure vaccines directly, by letting us use MLA/MLC funds for it, because vaccination at speed is needed to save lives.

I appeal to the State Govt. to transparently lay out a plan of action for vaccination & share it with the people of Karnataka: DK Shivakumar

DK Shivakumar – President, Karnataka Congress:

I have asked CM BS Yediyurappa & Dr Sudhakar to give a blueprint & timeline on how they plan to vaccinate all eligible people in Karnataka, but to no avail.

Co-Win registration & booking is cumbersome. There are issues with OTP & the few slots available are booked out within seconds.

What should those without access to CoWIN, smartphones & computers do? They are being left out of the vaccine process deliberately?

Also, there are nearly 65 lakh pending second doses for 45+ but available stock with the State Govt is not at all sufficient. What’s the solution?

The Govt is putting the lives of people at risk, especially that of our senior citizens.

I again appeal to them to transparently lay out a plan of action for vaccination & share it with the people of Karnataka.

This will give people confidence & also decrease vaccine hesitancy.

Happy to share that Central govt has promised to send 2,67,690 doses of Covishield by today evening: Atishi – AAP leader

Happy to share that Central govt has promised to send 2,67,690 doses of Covishield by today evening.

We can then vaccinate 18-44yr olds for 6 more days.

We appeal to the center to support us with regular supply of vaccine doses as this is the only way to defeat the virus!

Delhi’s Vaccination Bulletin, 11th May, 2021:

1,39,261 vaccine doses were administered yesterday, 10th May.

It is the highest single day record for Delhi.

We are grateful to the front line workers for their efforts.

Unfortunately, due to lack of availability of Covaxin for 18-44yr in Delhi, 125+ vaccination sites administering covaxin till today will be closed from tomorrow onwards.

The current Covishield stock will last 3 more days.

We need daily production of more than 65 lakh doses if we are to cover entire population above age 18: Thomas Isaac

Thomas Isaac Economic Stimulus India News

There is no sufficient production of vaccine in India to supply states demand.

The centres move to earmark 18-45 age group for vaccination by states through direct procurement is a clever political ploy to put blame on states for the confusion that is inevitable

We need daily production of more than 65 lakh doses if we are to cover entire population above age 18.

But daily production is only 30 lakh doses.

What is the agenda of central govt to boost production?

Stop vaccine exports for now.

A program to expand the capacity?

Discussed the need for a strategy to ensure that maximum college students above 18 years get vaccinated at the earliest: Aaditya Thackeray

Aaditya Thackeray – Minister, Maharashtra Govt. :

Digitally inaugurated vaccination centres in Wadala (yesterday) with Corporator Amey Ghole and Worli Koliwada, with Hemangi Worlikar ji today.

The increasing demand for vaccination centres and citizens keen to be vaccinated gives me hope in a better future for human race.

Last evening I also spoke to Minister Uday Samant ji, discussing with him the need for a strategy to involve universities and colleges across Maharashtra (if need be) to ensure that maximum college students above 18 years get vaccinated at the earliest

The higher number of younger citizens getting vaccinated would help us be more confident of lesser intensity of covid in the coming future and enable us to re-adjust and open our colleges, work places without the fear of severe covid cases.
