Those who fly in luxury, must know that low ATF prices make flying affordable & fulfil PM Modi Ji’s vision of ‘हवाई चप्पल से हवाई जहाज़’ through UDAN scheme.hardeep puri – union minister
Instead of questioning low ATF prices they should convince Congress-ruled states to reduce taxes & levies on fuel.
ATF prices in the country have always been lower than consumer fuels, also due to the fact that Centre charges only 2% central excise on ATF at UDAN airports.
Till now 387 air-routes have been awarded under UDAN scheme making aviation accessible & affordable for nearly 4 lakh passengers everyday.
PM Gati Shakti envisages doubling India’s existing aviation footprint to a total of 220 airports, heliports & water aerodromes by 2025.
JM Scindia – Union Minister:
The UT of J&K marks a new dawn for air connectivity in the region.
Following the lead of the pro-active governments of Uttarakhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the UT of J&K has also drastically reduced VAT on ATF from 26.5% to 1%.
I thank Sh Manoj Sinha Ji for his prompt action owing to his commitment to bring prosperity to J&K. I also thank the two states and the UT of J&K for being the first movers in heralding a new course for aviation in their States.
I would also urge the remaining States to emulate, and get on to the bandwagon of greater regional connectivity. Lower operational costs for airlines has a causal effect on flight connectivity.
Given the disruption caused by the pandemic, it is important that States collaboratively work with Ministry of Civil Aviation to not just bring the sector back on track, but also trigger greater economic activity in their respective regions.

NSWS has been designed keeping the needs of entrepreneurs and investors at the center.
NSWS provides following online services: –
• Know Your Approval (KYA) Service: an intelligent information wizard that generates a list of approvals required by any business to commence operations. It does so by asking the investor a series of dynamic questions about their planned business activities and identifies the applicable approvals basis the responses provided. The questionnaire, simple and user friendly on the surface, has a complex, automated logic built into it to sieve through hundreds of approvals, and shortlists only those relevant to the specific investor or entrepreneur. This service was launched on 21.07.2021 with over 500 approvals across 32 Central Departments and over 2000 approvals across 14 states. This service is only for guidance purposes and does not constitute any legal advice.
• Common Registration Form: To ensure a single point of submission of information and documents across Ministries and States, a unified information capturing system along with a common registration form has been introduced. Information is auto-populated on forms, eliminating the need to fill in the same information again.
• State registration form: Enables investor to have seamless single click access to respective State Single Window System.
• Applicant dashboard: Provides a single online interface to apply, track and respond to the queries pertaining to approvals and registrations across ministries and States.
• Document repository: An online centralized storage service for investors to enable one-time document submission and use the same across multiple approvals. This eliminates the need to submit documents at multiple portals.
• E-Communication module: Enables online response to queries and clarification requests related to applications by Ministries and States.
The beta version of the portal has now been completed and is being opened to all stakeholders and the public as trial soft launch. The beta version of the portal (under Phase I), hosts approvals from 18 Central departments and 9 States and is aimed at guiding investors to the list of business approvals they may need, based on information provided by them.
Another 14 Central departments and 5 States will be onboarded by December 2021 (under Phase II)
The portal will progressively onboard a greater number of approvals and licenses, based on user / industry feedback.
Though extensive testing by Ministries/States is ongoing, and will continue for next three months to stabilize & optimize the platform, it is critical that extensive feedback from the industry users is accommodated to ensure comprehensiveness and high utility for Investors & Entrepreneurs.

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav has asked all stakeholders including the citizens to sincerely and earnestly contribute to achieve cleaner air and healthier lives for all.
The Union Minister, who was speaking at an event in New Delhi today to mark the second International Day of clean Air For Blue Skies, stated that the Central Government has launched several initiatives to improve air quality in the entire country, with the Prime Minister himself setting a goal for holistic improvement in air quality in more than 100 cities.
“86 cities showed better air quality in 2019 in comparison to 2018, which increased to 104 cities in 2020”, informed the Environment Minister.
The Minister said that the Government under the leadership of the Prime Minister is now actively linking all policy approaches to give paramount importance to conserve public goods like water, air and Earth.
Shri Yadav on the occasion virtually inaugurated the first functional smog tower in India at Anand Vihar, Delhi and expressed hope that the pilot smog tower project will yield fruitful results and supplement the air quality improvement efforts.
A smog tower is a structure designed as large/medium scale air purifiers to reduce air pollution, usually by forcing the air through filters.
The smog tower at Anand Vihar with a height of over 20m, is of downdraft type, i.e. polluted air comes in from the top of the tower and clean air comes out of the bottom is intended for localised reduction in air pollution (Particulate Matter).
The filtration system used in the tower has been designed by University of Minnesota with an expected efficiency of 90%. 40 fan units have been installed to provide a design airflow rate of 1000 m3/sec. The tower has been built by Tata Projects Limited with NBCC (India) Ltd. as the project management consultant.
The event also witnessed launch of a portal named “PRANA” – Portal for Regulation of Air-pollution in Non-Attainment cities under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP). Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) are implementing National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) in the country since 2019 with targets to achieve 20 to 30 % reduction in Particulate Matter (PM10 and PM2.5 ) concentrations by 2024 across the country.
City-specific action plans for improving air quality for 132 Non- attainment cities (NACs)/Million Plus Cities (MPC) targeting city specific air polluting sources (Soil & Road Dust, Vehicles, Domestic Fuel, MSW Burning, Construction Material and Industries) have been prepared and are already being implemented.
The portal (prana.cpcb.gov.in) will support tracking of physical as well as financial status of city air action plan implementation and disseminate information on air quality to public.
