PM Narendra Modi launches Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY SEHAT to extend coverage to all residents of Jammu and Kashmir :

  • I am fortunate to know about the experience of Ayushman Bharat Scheme from two beneficiaries of Jammu and Kashmir. Knowing the benefits of the scheme and experience gives me the strength to work more for my people.
  • Today is a very historic day for Jammu and Kashmir. From today people of Jammu and Kashmir are going to get the benefit of Ayushman Yojana. SEHAT Scheme in itself is a big step. And seeing J&K take these steps for the development of its people makes me happy.
  • Today, Jammu and Kashmir Ayushman Bharat-SEHAT Scheme has been launched. This scheme will give free treatment of up to 5 lakh rupees.
  • Presently, about 6 lakh families of the state are getting the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Now, after the launch of SEHAT scheme all 21 lakh families will get the same benefit.
  • There will be another benefit of this scheme which needs to be mentioned. Your treatment will not be limited to govt and private hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir only. Rather, thousands of hospitals are connected under this scheme in the country, you will also get this facility
  • I also congratulate the people of Jammu and Kashmir for strengthening democracy.
  • The election of the District Development Council has written a new chapter. In every phase of the elections, I was watching how despite of cold weather and COVID, youth, elderly, women were reaching the booth.
  • On the face of every voter in Jammu and Kashmir, I saw an expectation for development, an expectation for development. Leaving the past behind, I saw the belief of a better future in the eyes of every voter in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • These elections in Jammu and Kashmir also showed how strong democracy is in our country.
  • About 18 lakh cylinders were refilled here in J&K during the pandemic. More than 10 lakh toilets were built in J&K under Swachch Bharat abhiyan. But its purpose is not limited to just building toilets, it is also an attempt to improve people’s health.
