We are committed to address through dialogue all objections of the state Govt. regarding these draft bylaws: Dharmendra Pradhan on Ekamra Kshetra

Dharmendra Pradhan – Union Minister:

I appreciate the deep concern of CM Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik regarding protecting the rich heritage of Odisha and respecting the sentiments of devotees, sevayats and the people of Ekamra Kshetra of Bhubaneswar.

Protection of monuments of national, historical & cultural importance is a collective responsibility of all of us.

CM Odisha who is a founding member of INTACH India must be aware that all notified monuments are protected under the AMASR Act, 1958 enacted in the Parliament.

To facilitate better upkeep, protection and preservation of these national treasures, NMA was constituted by a court order to provide better policy and legal framework to further improve upon preservation of monuments of immense cultural and historical importance.

Director, Culture Department, Govt. of Odisha, being the competent authority has been giving necessary permissions for any kind of construction and development activities within the periphery of the notified monuments in Odisha.

It seems that CM Shri Naveen Patnaik is inadequately briefed on the applicability of the draft bylaws promulgated by NMA on the Ananta Basudev and Brahmeswar temple in Bhubaneswar.

It is therefore requested of CM Shri Naveen Patnaik to direct Chief Secy., Govt. of Odisha, to write a letter to Secy. Min Of Culture GoI for examining point by point provisions of the draft bylaws and for listing out objections of the state govt in the draft published by NMA.

I assure CM Odisha that PM Shri Narendra Modi’s govt. will leave no stone unturned in honouring and respecting the culture, pride & sentiments of Odisha and its people.

We are committed to address through dialogue all objections of the state Govt. regarding these draft bylaws.

No household, no state, no country has progressed without empowering its women: Naveen Patnaik

Naveen Patnaik – Chief Minister, Odisha:

Biju Janata Dal has transformed into a social movement and women are the soul of this social movement.

Biju Janata Dal will continue to fight in every platform for reservation of women in Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly.

National parties remember women empowerment during elections and commit it in their manifesto only to conveniently forget after winning the elections.

BJD will keep reminding the national parties about this forgotten promise.

No household, no state, no country has progressed without empowering its women.

From now on, in every session of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Legislative Assembly, BJD will raise the women’s reservation issue and remind national parties about their promises.
