PM Narendra Modi’s closing remarks at the meeting with CMs on the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine. Excerpts via BJP India:

The discussion and cooperation between states and Centre has helped a lot in the fight against COVID and we’ve presented a good example of federalism.

India is entering a decisive phase of vaccination in the fight against COVID.

We’re starting the world’s largest vaccination programme from 16th January.

We’ve made necessary preparations for patients if the COVID vaccine shows any side-effects.

We already have a mechanism under the Universal Immunization Programme for situations such as these.

We’ve strengthened it specifically for COVID vaccination.

All States and UTs must ensure that rumours around the vaccination programme are not allowed to spread.

Corporate competition and vested interests of certain lobbies within and outside country may be at work to fuel the rumours.

PM Modi Light House Projects

Light House Projects – In Ranchi, we are using 3D construction system where every room will be built separately and then the entire structure will be connected like lego blocks: PM Modi

Narendra Modi, Prime Minister:

At one time, housing schemes weren’t the priority of Central govts as much as it should’ve been.

However, we know that transformation is impossible without all-around development. The country has adopted a new approach and a different road ahead.

This global challenge (COVID-19) has given us the scope to innovate and incubate with new technology.

From today, work is starting on six Light House Projects at different locations. These projects will be completed by modern technology and innovative processes.

In Ranchi, we are using 3D construction system from Germany. In this pattern, every room will be built separately and then the entire structure will be connected like lego blocks.

In Agartala, we are building homes using steel frame technology from New Zealand. This is to prevent the houses from the perpetual risk of earthquakes.

In Lucknow, we’re using technology from Canada. Plaster and paint won’t be needed in this and pre-built walls will be used.

These projects are incubation centres for our planners, engineers, architects and students to learn from. They will also be able to experiment on new technology.

To promote research and innovation, we’re running the ASHA India project. Through this, we’re developing new and cheap technology to build houses for the 21st century.

If we look at the work done under PM Awas Yojana, you’d find focus is equally on innovation and implementation. Innovation has been done in building material according to local needs and demands of the house-owner.

RERA has helped the people believe in reality projects again and that the projects will be completed.

Today, 60,000 real-estate projects are registered under RERA. Thousands of cases has also been solved under the law.

We’re continuously taking decisions to promote investment in real estate sector. Housing tax is also being reduced to promote buyers.

The tax that stood at 8% on cheap houses today stands at just 1%. On average houses, the tax stands at 5% from 12%.
