A great victory for the farmers and for the Congress party which was unwavering in its opposition to the farm laws: P Chidambaram

P Chidambaram – Former Union Finance Minister:

What cannot be achieved by democratic protests can be achieved by the fear of impending elections!

PM’s announcement on the withdrawal of the three farm laws is not inspired by a change of policy or a change of heart. It is impelled by fear of elections!

Anyway, it is a great victory for the farmers and for the Congress party which was unwavering in its opposition to the farm laws

Punjab Assembly passed ‘APMC Amendment Act 2021’ to prevent privatisation & to counter the three farm laws of the Union Govt. : Charanjit Channi

Charanjit Channi – CM, Punjab:

Punjab assembly unanimously passed a resolution against Centre’s decision to extend the jurisdiction of the BSF to a 50 km belt along the international border in state.

We are committed to protect Punjab and if required will approach Supreme court in this matter.

I had met the Centre Govt to appeal them to seal international boarder within 5 kilometer jurisdiction to curb smuggling of drugs.

But Akali Dal does not want this as it desires to continue flow of drugs into state so that they can annihilate future of Punjab.

Punjab government tabled a White Paper on power sector including PPA agreements signed during Akali regime in the Vidhan Sabha today.

I want to reiterate my firm stand to Punjabis that now accountability will be fixed and exemplary action to be initiated against perpetrators.

House passed bill to abolish Contract Farming Act, 2013 implemented by Akali Dal.

Assembly also passed ‘APMC Amendment Act 2021’ to prevent privatisation & to counter 3 draconian farm laws of Union Govt.

Punjab Govt. will continue to support farmers in their battle for survival & Justice

Akali Dal appeals to all political parties to jointly demand repeal of 3 Farm Laws: Sukhbir Singh Badal

  • Akali Dal appeals to all political parties to jointly demand repeal of 3 Farm Laws as any diversion from this agenda will provide NDA govt a chance to divert attention from Kisan Andolan.

  • We must seize the opportunity to ensure the annadata’s cause isn’t weakened in any way.

  • Centre is trying to paint farmers in poor light by giving an impression it is ready for talks but farmers being intransigent.

  • Strange that GoI wants to discuss Farm Laws when farmers have rejected them outrightly.

  • GoI must first repeal laws then reach out to farmers for talks.

There is no need for the Prime Minister to hoard credit for free vaccines. This money belongs to the people of India and not the BJP

Those who put a GST charges on the vaccine are playing with the life & death of citizens of India.

PM Narendra Modi said “no tolerance for corruption”!

Wondering if the PM rebuked Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari for his activities & enlightened him on the Prevention of Corruption Act?

Perhaps they worked on a unique Bill together – How To Get Away With Fraud & Corruption?

Urging Union Agriculture Minister to be sensitive to the pain of our farmers sitting on Delhi borders for 194 days, I exhort him to hold fresh talks: Sukhbir Singh Badal

500 farmers have laid down their lives fighting against the 3 controversial Farm Laws.

Still, instead of resolving the issue, the NDA govt is effectively telling the peaceful protestors that there is no space for discussion in a democracy.

Urging Agri Minister NS Tomar to be sensitive to the pain of our farmers sitting on Delhi borders for 194 days, I exhort him to hold fresh talks to understand why they want the Acts be repealed, instead of sprinkling salt on their wounds by out rightly rejecting this demand.

If the government is a servant of the people, it should heed public opinion, scrap the farm laws and begin fresh consultations : P Chidambaram

P Chidambaram, Former Finance Minister :

As the farmers’ protest completed 6 months, the government is using the pandemic to turn the narrative in its favour The new spin is “prolonging the agitation in the midst of a pandemic is unconscionable”.

The obvious counter is “prolonging the controversial farm laws in the midst of a pandemic is unconscionable” The farmers are determined, the government is stubborn.

If the government is a servant of the people, it should heed public opinion, scrap the farm laws and begin fresh consultations

Working Group headed by then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi ji recommended protection of farmer interest by ensuring there was no farmer – trader transaction below MSP: Harsimrat Kaur

Harsimrat Kaur Badal – Former Union Minister :

It is a fact that Working Group on Consumer Affairs headed by then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi ji recommended protection of farmer interest by ensuring there was no farmer – trader transaction below MSP. What has changed since then ?

The centre should tell why Jan 26 intelligence failure not probed. Why those who sacrificed most for national flag are being targeted?

The Kesri Nishan being vilified is same which has always been respected by the PM.

See the arrogance of BJP-led Centre. It vilified farmers as bicholiya, naxals & Khalistanis & refused to despatch any minister to seek their welfare.

State following policy of repression against agitating youth, social activists & journalists.
