Redbird Flight Training Academy inaugurated today at Lilabari Airport, Lakhimpur will train nearly 200 pilots: Himanta Biswa

- Glad to inaugurate Redbird Flight Training Academy along with Union Ministers Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia & Shri Kiren Rijiju at Lilabari Airport, Lakhimpur.
- It’s one of the 9 Flight Training Organisations started under Phase I of Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative & first in NE.
- GoA has handed over 84 acres of land for development of basic air strip & construction of isolation bay at the academy.
- Nearly 200 pilots will be trained at the academy where 10% seats will be reserved to which GoA can sponsor aspirants from lower & lower middle class families.
- For expansion & modernisation of existing airports in the State, GoA will hand over land to Civil Aviation Ministry by May 10, 2022.
- Also, as requested by Scindia ji, our Govt will take an appropriate decision regarding reduction of VAT on aviation fuel.

- I wholeheartedly welcome Adarniya PM Shri Narendra Modi ji’s decision to withdraw AFSPA from all areas of Assam barring 9 districts & 1 sub division.
- Also convey my gratitude to HM Shri Amit Shah ji for this great move.

- AFSPA has been in force since 1990 & this move marks the beginning of a new chapter in Assam’s future.

Despite certain sections claiming that it was only a few years old, we have always held the position that the ancient Dhalpur Shiva Mandir atop the Dhalpur hill in the middle of the Brahmaputra in Darrang district was several thousands of years old.
The discovery today of a few artefacts dating back to several thousands of years during an excavation as part of the ongoing restoration work only validated our stand.
Freed last year from encroachers, we are determined to restore the ancient heritage site to its former glory.

Glad to witness history being created when MV Lal Bahadur Shastri, a cargo vessel carrying 200 MT of foodgrains from Patna arrived at Pandu Port, Guwahati traversing 2,350 km through the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol route.
This is an important milestone in the region’s connectivity.
I am grateful to Union Minister of Shipping Shri Sarbananda Sonowal dangoriya for his efforts to improve waterways in the North East under the guidance of Adarniya PM Shri Narendra Modi ji.

Govt of Assam and NDDB sign MoU worth Rs 2000cr; JV to transform rural economy & boost the dairy sector : Himanta Biswa

Attended signing of MoU between Govt of Assam and National Diary Development Board in presence of Adarniya Union Minister Parshottam Rupala ji.
This is part of our initiatives to transform rural economy & boost the dairy sector. Under the MoU, a JV worth ₹2,000 crore would be set up between GoA & NDDB.
The aim is to:
- Process 10 lakh litres of milk through 6 new milk processing units in 7 years
- Benefit 1,75,000 dairy farmers & increase their earnings
- Set up 2 cattle feed & organic manure manufacturing units
- Import high-yielding cattle breeds & artificial insemination
