Tea garden workers’ welfare remains a committed priority.

Since the February 23 decision of Govt of Assam to raise wages of Tea garden workers by Rs 50 was challenged in HC, we considered it crucial to find a special solution, in the interim. Today, we have made a headway on that.

In consultation with workers unions, gardens management we’ve agreed an upward revision in wages of Tea garden workers by Rs 38, to be effective from Feb 23.

With this workers in Brahmaputra Valley shall get Rs 167+38 (Rs 205) & those in Barak Valley will get Rs 145 + 38 (Rs 183).

For the remaining Rs 12, we shall initiate consultation with stakeholders and am certain that an acceptable solution will be found out soon.
