Today the Cabinet has approved the PLI scheme for telecom equipment manufacturing in India.
To encourage Make In India in telecom equipment we will be giving incentive of ₹12,195 Crores under this PLI scheme.
The implementation of PLI scheme in the telecom manufacturing will start from 1st April 2021.
Many of international players are keen to come to India and we will encourage them including domestic manufacturers.
In the coming 5 years we hope to have incremental production of ₹2.4 Lakh Crores, export worth ₹1.95 lakh Crores with 40,000 direct and indirect employment and tax revenue of ₹17,000 crore from telecom equipment manufacturing.
Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, PLI scheme was started with mobile phone manufacturing & today this scheme has been approved for telecom manufacturing.
First PLI scheme was announced in April 2020 & today ₹34,000 crore investment has been done by top mobile companies.
