Our universities should popularise India’s rich linguistic & cultural heritage and promote learning in Indian languages: Dharmendra Pradhan

Dharmendra Pradhan – Union Minister of Education:

Pleased to have had free-wheeling conversations with Vice Chancellors of 46 Central Universities through video conferencing.

We had good exchanges on implementation of the NEP, making education a lot more vibrant & holistic and establishing India as a knowledge superpower.

Happy to hear out all the VCs on the best practices of their respective institutions and on several matters of importance, including filling up of general and reserved vacancies, education during Covid19, online learning and status of NEP implementation.

Our universities are cradles of creativity, innovation and opportunities. The NEP will play a crucial role in situating India at the top of the emerging new world order.

As custodians of India’s destiny, our universities should fulfil their responsibilities outlined in the NEP.

Our higher education institutions are key catalysts for promoting socio-economic development and for realising aspirations and national goals.

Our universities should popularise India’s rich linguistic & cultural heritage and promote learning in Indian languages.

I thank all the VCs for their insights and valuable suggestions. I directed all our central universities to work on mission-mode to fill-up the 6,000 vacant posts, create framework for alumni endowment and establish our campuses as breeding ground for sports & job creation.
