Today, on 1st January 2021, in presence of CM Uddhav Thackeray ji, DCM Ajit Pawar ji, RM Balasaheb Thorat ji and my colleagues from the Cabinet, the Dept of Environment & Climate Change launched an e-pledge on http://majhivasundhara.in to protect and preserve our planet
Majhi Vasundhara encourages the various departments of government and local self governments to work on the 5 elements of nature, which the officers at every level have begun since 2nd October.
Climate change is here and we must realise that. It has impacted our lives, lifestyle and livelihood directly & indirectly.
In a financial perspective, Maharashtra had to disburse more than ₹13,000 cr for natural calamity relief in 2020- cyclones, hailstorm, unseasonal rains
With investment over ₹1,13,000 crores as in-coming Industry along with almost 256,789.44 acres of land being declared as Conservation Reserves and 32,401 acres notified as Mangroves Forests, and a push to Electric Mobility, Maharashtra has shown that Growth is Sustainable!
The Government of Maharashtra is absolutely committed to Climate Change mitigation and adaptation measures.
