Happy to have met the proponents of Charyapad today, who were in Assam for a workshop on their beautiful tradition, which is a symbolic form of art and involves practising Vajrayana Buddhism song & dance.

It is a thriving tradition in Nepal & Bangladesh as well as in West Bengal.

In Charyapad tradition, it is believed that one can achieve Nirvana/Enlightenment.

However, owing to certain reasons, it has nearly vanished from its place of origin – Assam.

We shall try our best to revive this art-form in our state.
