PM Narendra Modi inaugurates and lays the foundation stone of various projects to redevelop Somnath as an iconic tourist destination :
Today, we are taking forward the dream of Sardar Patel and are trying to give new heights to Indian religious identity.
Today, I have the privilege of inaugurating Samudra Darshan Path, Somnath Exhibition Gallery and Juna Somnath Temple in a new form after renovation. Also today the foundation stone of Parvati Mata temple has also been laid.
Today, I also bow to Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, who renovated many temples from Vishwanath to Somnath.
Today’s inauguration will strengthen the link between our religious endeavours with tourism. It is not only a temple but a place that stands for the strength of our culture & humanitarian ideology.
In the past, many forces have tried to destroy this rich heritage of Somnath temple, but it encompasses a force that can never be stopped.
Today, if anyone see this grandeur of this Temple, they see a source of inspiration. A place which has been prescribed as ‘Prabhas Kshetra’, a source of ‘Gyan’ and ‘Prakash’ by our Rishis and Munis 1000 years back.
Destructive powers who think empires can be built on the basis of terror, may dominate for some time, but their existence is never permanent, they cannot suppress humanity for a long time.
Our thinking should be to improve the present by learning from history. Therefore, when I speak of ‘Bharat Jodo Andolan’, its meaning is not limited to geographical or ideological affiliations only. It is also a resolve to connect us with our past to build India of the future.
From Somnath and Nageshwar in the west to Baidyanath in the east, from Baba Kedarnath in the North to Shri Rameshwar; these 12 Jyotirlingas work to connect the whole of India.
The location of our four dhams, the concept of our Shaktipeeths, the establishment of different pilgrimages in our different corners. This outline of our faith is actually an expression of the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
