Building on the successful visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US last month, this visit by the Finance Minister further accelerated the momentum of India’s rise as a favoured destination for global investments.

An important aspect of the FM’s visit to the US was to represent India’s interests at the IMF-World Bank annual meetings.

These included meetings at the G20 FMCBG, IMF plenary & IMFC, World Bank Development Committee & with World Bank President David Malpass.

During the meetings, Smt N Sitharaman elaborated upon India’s COVID-19 response, including the actions taken within the country and to extend a helping hand abroad, the structural reforms undertaken, India’s post-COVID robust growth, and how it has exceeded the NDC targets.
