#COVID19 updates from Bengal –

Lanes / building complexes where a positive case is detected will be sanitised,put under lockdown & contact tracing will be done

  • There are 95 active COVID-19 cases
  • Lockdown will have a humane face
  • It will will be enforced till April 30
  • Three task forces under Chief Secretary, Home Secretary & Finance Secretary are operational
  • Grocery shops will be open from 10am to 6pm but no crowding will be allowed
  • Markets will have to be scattered;no congestion will be allowed

  • Schools, Colleges & Universities to remain closed till June 10
  • Farming will be allowed but in fewer numbers; only minimal people required will go to the fields
  • Ward to ward sanitisation will take place
  • In tea gardens, 25% workers instead of 15% will be allowed to work
  • Bakeries under sanitised conditions will be allowed
  • ICDS mid-day meals will continue to be delivered at children’s homes
  • Pensions have been paid for two months in advance
  • Nabanna will be closed for sanitization on Sunday and Monday

Request to Centre :

Centre has allotted only 1% of GDP; increase it to 5%-6%, should be devolved to States

  • CSR should not be applicable only for PM fund but CM and State funds as well
  • BSF meetings required as Bengal has three international borders; borders have to be strong
  • Special packages for MSME, Tourism, Drugs, 100 Days Work and unorganised sector should be provided
  • Rs 36,000 (+25,000) crore dues owed by Centre should be released
  • Devolution by Centre of Rs 11,230 crore due
  • GST compensation due of Rs 2393 crore from December 2019 to March 2020
