Dr Ashwathnarayan – Minister, Karnataka Govt.:
A big push to attract investments and boost trade in Karnataka!
Happy to share that the Government of Karnataka has signed an MoU with the Gulf Islamic Investment group.
The GII will open its office in Bengaluru to further strengthen Indo-UAE investment ties and plans to invest USD 500 mn in India in the next 3 years.
It is also exploring opportunities to collaborate with Indian startups to boost their Middle East expansion plans.
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray chaired a meeting with the State Task Force today.
He advised the Public Health Department to keep in regular touch with GoI regarding updates on the vaccination of children and ensure prompt arrangements once approvals are given to the state.
Restrictions are being gradually eased as the number of COVID cases is on the decline.
Amusement parks, auditoriums, and theaters will be opened from October 22nd.
Guidelines for extending the hours of restaurants and shops across the state will be out soon.
KC Venugopal – General Secretary, Congress:
Congress delivers what it promises.
The Congress govt in Punjab led by Shri Charanjit Channi has begun waiver of unpaid electricity bills for all poor & middle class households.
Bills worth over Rs. 1200 crore have been waived.
We don’t believe in empty poll promises.
Sukhbir Singh Badal:
It’s condemnable how Charanjit Channi is downplaying dangers posed by Centre’s move to increase jurisdiction of BSF in nearly half of Punjab.
He speaks with a forked tongue on the issue; on one hand he says there’s no need to spread panic, on the other he offers an all party meet!
Why is CM objecting to the move if he thinks SAD is needlessly worried?
He was spreading the Centre’s narrative that the move is not a major violation of the state’s autonomy & spoke up after being cornered by us. And why didn’t he hold any protest on the issue till now?
Already Punjabis are apprehensive as to why senior police officers are now reporting to BSF. Instead of correcting this narrative, CM is accusing us of provoking people.
Akali Dal has always behaved responsibly; in contrast Cong has always divided the State on communal lines.
Charanjit Singh Channi – CM, Punjab:
I strongly oppose & condemn the GoI’s authoritarian decision to illogically expand the BSF’s jurisdiction to 50 km inside the Punjab territory.
People of Punjab are greatly offended by this unilateral action.
This is an anti-democratic & anti-federal decision by Modi Govt.
All Punjabis must be united in this fight for upholding Punjab’s constitutional dignity and federal autonomy.
If necessary, we shall convene a special session of Vidhan Sabha to address this matter.
In this fight, I urge all political parties in Punjab to work together.
I warn Sukhbir Singh Badal not to misuse this sensitive issue for vested political ambitions.
P Chidambaram – Former Union Finance Minister:
The so-called expert committee report on Oxygen-shortage and related deaths in Goa is a desperate attempt to give a clean chit to the BJP government in Goa
The Hospital is blamed but the government is not to be blamed!
Strange logic in respect of a government-OWNED hospital!
Why does the Goa government have a Department of Health and a Minister of Health, if they are not responsible?
After the report, the CM and the Minister of Health should resign
Jyotiraditya Scindia – Union Minister:
Owing to the constructive policies of the government, domestic air traffic has seen the highest level, post the onset of the pandemic!
The civil aviation sector in India thrives amidst unprecedented challenges, whilst we make every effort to return to normalcy as early as possible.
