Salute the Supreme Court for a series of directions to the Government in its order dated 2-6-2021
The Government that refused to answer questions posed by the people of the country must now answer the SC
The vaccine policy has been declared by the SC as irrational and arbitrary.
Will no one in Government be held responsible?
This is another example of the Modi government believing it is not answerable to the Parliament or the people
More than 58.71 lakh doses of vaccine will be supplied to Karnataka in the month of June including supply of 45 lakh doses from GoI and 13.7 lakh doses from state govt’s direct procurement.Dr Sudhakar – Health minister, karnataka
Union Govt’s continued support to states to ensure Vaccine For All is truly commendable.
Thomas Isaac – Former Finance Minister, Kerala :
Kerala assembly passes unanimous resolution that the Centre should make vaccines available free of cost to all states in a time bound manner.
Centre should float global tender to procure vaccine for the entire country
Himanta Biswa Sarma – Chief Minister, Assam:
During Home Minister Amit Shah ji’s visit next month, all North East CMs will try to discuss the pending border issues and the drug menace.
Given the improving Covid scenario, we are considering relaxing lockdown rules from 7th June.
Last month we acquired 5 lakh vaccines and this month we’ll buy 7 lakh vaccines to meet the demands of our state and the North Eastern region.
We’re grateful to the Centre for providing us with 12 lakh more doses.
The war against drugs will continue and Assam Police will carry out regular operations to bust the grave menace plaguing our society.
Many families have suffered immensely due to this. We are going to make some important announcements regarding the issue in the next few days.
Ministry of Health:
Union Ministry of Health has finalised arrangements with Hyderabad based vaccine manufacturer Biological-E to reserve 30 crore of COVID-19 vaccine doses.
These vaccine doses will be manufactured and stockpiled by M/s Biological-E from August-December 2021.
For this purpose, the Union Ministry of Health would be making an advance payment of Rs. 1500 crore to M/s Biological-E.
The COVID-19 vaccine of Biological-E is currently undergoing Phase-3 clinical trial after showing promising results in Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials.
The vaccine being developed by Biological-E is a RBD protein sub-unit vaccine and is likely to be available in the next few months.
The proposal of M/s Biological-E was examined and recommended for approval after due diligence by National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC).
The arrangement with M/s Biological-E is part of the wider endeavour of Government of India to encourage indigenous vaccine manufacturers by providing them support in Research & Development (R&D) and also financial support.
Biological-E COVID Vaccine candidate has been supported by Government of India from Preclinical stage to Phase-3 studies.
Department of Biotechnology has not only provided financial assistance in terms of grant-in-aid of over Rs 100 cr but has also partnered with Biological-E to conduct all animal challenge and assay studies through its Research Institute Translational Health Science Technology Institute (THSTI), Faridabad.
This has been undertaken as part of Government of India’s ‘Mission COVID Suraksha- the Indian COVID-19 Vaccine Development Mission’ which was launched to reinforce and accelerate COVID-19 vaccine development efforts as part of the third stimulus package, Atmanirbhar 3.0.
The Mission aims to bring to the citizens a safe, efficacious, affordable and accessible COVID-19 Vaccine.
The Mission is supporting development of 5-6 COVID-19 vaccine candidates. Some of these are now closer to licensure and introduction in public health systems.
It has not just accelerated COVID-19 Vaccine development efforts, but also fostered a robust end-to-end vaccine development ecosystem in the country that will be available for other on-going and future research and developmental activities for other vaccines.
BS Yediyurappa – CM, Karnataka:
The newly announced second economic support package is aimed at providing relief to more than 62 lakh citizens, including 56 lakh children.
Total support of more than Rs.1650 Crores – 1st & 2nd packages – will help those facing hardships during the pandemic.
Sukhbir Singh Badal – President, Akali Dal:
Akali Dal demands a high court probe into diversion of vaccines to private players at hefty margins to create artificial shortage.
Vaccines procured @ Rs 400 /dose sold to private hospitals for Rs 1060 and are available to common man at Rs 1560. This is a scam
Congress govt playing with people’s lives. Punjab health minister Balbir Singh should be sacked.
CS Punjab Vini Mahajan should also not act like a market salesman for private institutions by encouraging people to get vaccinated at inflated rates
Rahul Gandhi who has demanded free vaccines for all should tell what he has to say to a common man forced to pay Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 for a single vaccine dose for his family. He should tell if he supports Punjab govt decision to force people to get vaccine doses for Rs 1560.
It is immoral for Punjab govt to profit from sale of COVID Vaccines. People being punished during a time of economic slowdown. Cong govt has abdicated its responsibility towards public welfare by corporatizing vaccine distribution. The entire COVID management exercise stands exposed.

BBMP has now enabled hospital bed allocation for patients reporting to 16 physical triaging centres with COVID-19 symptoms
I thank COVID-19 War Room Incharge, Minister Sri Aravind Limbavali for bringing such innovative reforms in a swift manner for the benefit of citizens
In triaging centres, a doctor records oxygen level & co-morbidities of the arriving patient in person & accordingly blocks appropriate bed at nearest hospital
Prior to shifting to hospital, triaging centres also stabilize a patient whose oxygen levels are falling
As of now, physical triaging is done in 16 centres indicated
Each center has 2 docs & 2 paramedics working in shifts.
Ambulances are on standby to shift patients to hospitals They also enable doorstep triaging of patients who are unable to report to the centres
Doctors in Physical Triaging Centres can now book beds in 26 hospitals across Bengaluru
In last 3 days, 936 patients have been physically triaged in 8 centres
Out of them,
678 were placed in home isolation
186 were referred to CCCs
72 were hospitalized
To make rational allocation of beds, BBMP plans to make physical triaging a prerequisite for hospital admission in future
1 physical triaging centre per ward will enable citizens access emergency care with ease
I thank GoK & CM Sri BS Yediyurappa for these citizen-friendly reforms
