Direct flight operations between Nashik and Belgaum started today

Ministry of Civil Aviation:

The first direct flight operations between Nashik (Maharashtra) and Belgaum (Karnataka) started today under the RCS-UDAN (Regional Connectivity Scheme — Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) of the Government of India.

Operationalizing of this route expands the aerial connectivity of Belgaum to the 10 destinations across India.

The Belgaum airport has emerged as the third busiest airport in terms of traffic in the state, after Bengaluru and Mangaluru.

Officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and Airport Authority of India (AAI) were present at the launch of the flight operations.

Till date, 311 routes have been operationalized under the UDAN scheme.

Several requests were received to start Belgaum-Nashik route considering the non-availability of any direct flight/train operations between these cities, till date.

People were forced to travel by road & suffer a long journey of more than 10 hours.

Nasik is a big tourist and business destination. Being one of the four pilgrimage sites that organises Kumbh Mela, and the gateway city for the Shirdi Sai Temple & Trimbakeshwar Temple, the city attracts lakhs of tourists every year.

Additionally, due to the presence of majority of India’s vineyards and wineries in the city, Nashik is also known as the Grape and Wine capital of India and attracts business community.

Further, many people use this route to visit Kolhapur & Goa for tourism and business purposes. Now, these people can travel at ease by opting for a flight of just 60 minutes.

Star Air was awarded the Belgaum-Nashik route during the UDAN 3 bidding process.

The airlines are being provided Viability Gap Funding (VGF) under the UDAN scheme to keep the fares affordable & accessible for the common people.

The airline will be operating thrice-weekly flights on the route and will deploy its 50-seater Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft.

The route marks the commencement of the 15th UDAN route by the airline.

The proposal will now go to the states for consultation before it is formally notified.  The main principles to be followed while levying the Green Tax are :Transport vehicles older than 8 years could be charged Green Tax at the time of renewal of fitness certificate, at the rate of 10 to 25 % of road tax;

The Minister also approved the policy of deregistration and scrapping of vehicles owned by Government department and PSU, which are above 15 years in age. It is to be notified, and will come into effect from 1st April, 2022.

It is estimated that commercial vehicles, which constitute about 5% of the total vehicle fleet , contribute about 65-70% of total vehicular pollution.

The older fleet, typically manufactured before the year 2000 constitute less that 1 % of the total fleet but contributes around 15% of total vehicular pollution. These older vehicles pollute 10-25 times more than modern vehicles.

President Kovind Republic Day

We celebrate the national festival of the Republic Day with enthusiasm and express our respect for the national flag, and our faith in the Constitution: President Kovind

Address of the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, on the eve of the 72nd Republic Day. Excerpts via Rashtrapati Bhavan:

Our scientists have been working day and night for decoding the Coronavirus and they have succeeded in developing the vaccine in record time.

With this accomplishment, our scientists have added a glorious chapter of contribution to the well-being of humanity.

Equality is the watchword for the great project of our Republic. Social equality warrants dignity for each one of us, villagers, women, weaker sections of our society, namely, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Divyangjan and the elderly people.

The manner in which India got overwhelming support of the international community for its entry as non-permanent member in the Security Council this year is indicative of that influence. The quality of our engagement with leaders across the world has enhanced manifold.

Though we reiterate our commitment to peace, our defence forces – Army, Air Force and Navy – are adequately mobilised in a well-coordinated move to thwart any attempt to undermine our security. Our national interest will be protected at all costs.

We are supplying medicines and other healthcare items to several countries to alleviate people’s suffering and contain the pandemic across the globe. Now we also provide vaccines to other countries.

I urge upon the countrymen to utilise this lifeline and get vaccinated as per guidelines. Your health opens the way for your advancement.

A self-reliant India has manufactured its own vaccine for Covid-19, and is now undertaking a mass vaccination drive, which will be the largest exercise of its kind in history.

About 1.5 lakh people became victims of this pandemic. I convey my condolences to the bereaved families. Our frontline Corona-warriors were ordinary citizens who turned out to be extraordinary.

I am thinking here of doctors, nurses, paramedics, healthcare administrators and sanitation workers who put their own lives at risk to care for Covid-19 patients. Some of them even lost their lives.

Despite adversities of nature, numerous other challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic, our farmers sustained the agricultural production. A grateful nation is fully committed to the welfare of our farmers.

Our national festivals are celebrated by everyone with great patriotic fervour. We celebrate the national festival of the Republic Day with enthusiasm and express our respect for the national flag, and our faith in the Constitution.

Problem in India is not a shortage of money, the problem is that it is never given to the poor people: Rahul Gandhi

INC India:

There are 3 elements of the new farm law:

Destruction of mandi system

Allowing biggest business in India to store as much agricultural produce as they want

Not to allow farmers to use courts to protect themselves

rahul gandhi – Former Congress president

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi addresses the Farmers Convention in Karur, Tamil Nadu

There are 3 elements of the new farm law:
1- Destruction of mandi system
2- Allowing biggest business in India to store as much agricultural produce as they want
3- Not to allow farmers to use courts to protect themselves

We are stopping these laws and protecting your interests because we think these are criminal laws

In the last election, in our manifesto, we had come up with a revolutionary idea.

Like MNREGA, where we give guaranteed employment to rural people, we had come up with an idea to help everybody

Idea was very simple, identify poorest families in India & give them money in their bank account.

So, every poor family in India would get ₹ 72,000 directly in their bank accounts and there was more than enough money to do this easily

Problem in India is not a shortage of money, the problem is that it is never given to the poor people

There is a lot of work that needs to be done to protect the interest of the farmers, labourers, workers, poor people.

We will work together to ensure that our and your future is good

Punjabis deserve full credit for showing unprecedented discipline despite provocations & conspiracies, making this movement the most unique democratic event in recent history.

A peaceful march tomorrow will be a triumph of the farmers’ democratic spirit & discipined approach.
