As Minister for Environment & Climate Change, I’m thankful to Minister for Forest Sanjay Rathod ji for his full cooperation & Minister Thorat ji for his department’s support in pushing forward our agenda to protect our mangroves.
By mid 2021, we aim to notify almost 10,000 ha (24,710.54 acres) as reserved forest under the IFA.

Ministry of Civil Aviation via PIB India:
First flight to the newly constructed Hisar airport in Haryana from Chandigarh was flagged off today under the Regional Connectivity Scheme – RCS-UDAN of the Government of India.
The flight was flagged off by Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Haryana.
The inauguration was attended by the senior officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) & Airport Authority of India (AAI).
The flagging off marks the operationalization of 54th airport under the UDAN scheme.
To date, 307 routes and 54 airports including 5 heliports and 2 Water Aerodromes have been operationalized under the UDAN scheme.
Belonging to the Government of Haryana, Hisar airport is a public licensed airport that is suitable for 18 seat type aircraft.
The development of the Hisar airport was undertaken by the MoCA as it aligns with the dual objectives of the UDAN scheme; “letting the common citizen of the country fly” & make air travel affordable and widespread in the country.”
Subsequently, the Government of India had sanctioned INR 28.60 crores for the development of the interim civil aviation operations.
The land was handed over to the AAI for the up-gradation and development of the Hisar airport.
The upgrade included the construction of the new terminal building, hangars, strengthening of the runway, installation of night-flying equipment, ATC, security equipment, etc at the Hisar airport.
The airline Aviation Connectivity & Infrastructure Developers Pvt. Ltd (Air Taxi) was awarded the Hisar – Chandigarh – Hisar route under the UDAN 4 bidding process.
The airline has become the first startup airline of the country to assist the nation with Air Taxi services.
These UDAN flights will reduce the journey time between Hisar to Chandigarh from 4.50 hours to a comfortable 45 minutes journey that too at an affordable fare since financial incentives in the form of Viability Gap Funding (VGF) is being provided from the Centre, State governments & airport operators to selected airlines to encourage operations from unserved and underserved airports under the scheme.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch the pan India rollout of COVID-19 vaccination drive on 16th January, 2021 at 10:30 AM via video conferencing.
This will be the world’s largest vaccination program covering the entire length and breadth of the country.
A total of 3006 session sites across all States and UTs will be virtually connected during the launch.
Around 100 beneficiaries will be vaccinated at each session site on the inaugural day.
This vaccination programme is based on the principles of priority groups to be vaccinated and Health Care workers, both in government and private sectors including ICDS workers, will receive the vaccine during this phase.
The vaccination programme will use Co-WIN, an online digital platform developed by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, which will facilitate real time information of vaccine stocks, storage temperature and individualized tracking of beneficiaries for COVID-19 vaccine.
This digital platform will assist programme managers across all levels while conducting vaccination sessions.
A dedicated 24×7 call centre – 1075 – has also been established for addressing the queries related to COVID-19 pandemic, vaccine rollout and the Co-WIN software.
Adequate doses of both COVISHIELD and COVAXIN have already been delivered across the country to all States/UTs with the active support of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
These have been further delivered by the State/UT governments to the districts.
All preparations are in place to initiate the programme on the principles of Jan Bhagidari.
BJP National President Shri JP Nadda participates in Namma Ooru Pongal celebrations in Chennai. Speech Excerpts via BJP India:
This is a festival of farmers who have taken care of us and the whole country celebrates it.
However, it has special meaning in Tamil Nadu. It is a land of saints where I bow to the sages who’ve contributed to humanity.
Tamil Nadu has been the guiding force for the light of our nation for centuries. It’s a unique mix of economic development with religious sentiments and culture.
PM Modi highlighted Tamil Nadu and its poets at the United Nations and different parts of the world and country. This is the pride and love he has for this state with rich culture and heritage.
Modi Ji has contributed and tried to see to it that the whole country goes forward but at the same time, he’s also made sure that Tamil Nadu takes a big leap as far as development is concerned.
The 13th Finance Commission during UPA-II gave Rs 94,000 crore to Tamil Nadu. The 14th Finance Commission under PM Modi gave the state an astronomical Rs 5.42 lakh crore for development.
The Central govt has allotted Rs 1,600 crore for the development of textiles and its industry, which finds a special place in Tamil Nadu. This is Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, with an idea of ‘vocal for local’.
During COVID, PM Modi sent directly to 20 crore women Rs 1,500 each for three months, giving a mighty example of women empowerment. 8 crore women were also given gas connections.
36 lakh LED bulbs were distributed in Tamil Nadu under the UJALA scheme. The defence corridor that starts from Chennai-Coimbatore is also an economic corridor will bring jobs and opportunities to the youth of the state.
Rs 2,875 crore is being spent on Chennai Metro and Rs 3,267 crore is being spent on Monorail in the state. Under the AWAS Yojana, 5.36 lakh houses have been constructed for the poor.
11 medical colleges and an AIIMS have been given to Tamil Nadu by the Modi government.
Practically, every 3 Lok Sabha constituency will now have at least one medical college. PM Modi has been involved in a lot of development work in Tamil Nadu.
It is the BJP where the scientific development is taking place and thus, people from different walks of life are joining us.
We invite everybody and we’ve to make sure that we as a mainstream party keep walking ahead in the state.
Dr Harsh Vardhan – Union Health Minister:
After being administered COVID19 Vaccine, some individuals may have side effects like mild fever, pain at injection site & bodyache.
This is similar to the side effects that occur post some other vaccines.
These are expected to go away on their own after some time.
You cannot contract COVID19 because you have been inoculated with a COVID19 Vaccine
Temporary side effects such as mild fever should not be confused as having contracted COVID.
There is no scientific evidence to suggest that COVID Vaccine could cause infertility in either men or women.
Kindly do not pay heed to such rumours or information from unverified sources.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with the media in Tamil Nadu. Excerpts, via INC India:
Today the Govt in Delhi is under the impression that they will destroy cultures of this country.
They believe they can suppress the emotions of Tamil people, they believe they can crush the language of Tamil people, they can suppress the spirit of Tamil people
I came to give them a message that nobody is going to suppress the Tamil spirit for the Tamil spirit cannot be suppressed and secondly suppressing the Tamil spirit is the worst thing that you can do for our country
The Tamil spirit, like many other cultures and traditions in the country, are the essence of our country. They are the soul of our country so I am completely against the idea that there is one particular idea, language, notion in this country
The Govt is not just neglecting farmers, they are conspiring to destroy them, there’s a difference.
They are trying to destroy them because they want to benefit their friends. They want to take the land and produce of the farmer & give it to their friends
You are helping a handful of businesses. During Corona, you did not help or support the common man, whose Prime Minister are you?
What is China doing inside Indian territory and why is the Prime Minister completely silent about it? These are the real questions to be asked
I am very proud of what our farmers are doing and I fully support the farmers and I will continue to stand with them.
I raised their issue in a yatra in Punjab and we will continue to do it. The Govt will be forced to take back these laws. Mark my words
