After the Indian diplomat walked out of Imran Khan’s address at the UN, India exercised its Right to Reply : Amit Malviya

After the Indian diplomat walked out of Imran Khan’s address at the UN, India exercised its Right to Reply. It was a scathing response. Our First Secretary referred to the Pakistan prime minister’s speech as diatribe and spelled out his country’s horrendous record! Listen in…

There is no clear cancellation of MSP but they have not left any existence of MSP: Abhishek Singhvi

Congress Party briefing by Dr Abhishek Singhvi and Anil Chaudhary at AICC HQ:

There is no clear cancellation of MSP but they have not left any existence of MSP. You say you can go to this mandi if you want, you can also sell it on MSP, but what is the justification to say that you have not canceled MSP?

There is no mention of MSP, no criteria for pricing despite that you are tricking the nation by saying that we have not removed MSP

Another point is contract farming. In 75 years, why didn’t our constitution makers think about contract farming

Now there is no limit to the amount of paddy you can store. The Government has changed that

Procurement in Punjab was 127 lakh tonnes in 2020 and Punjab’s earnings due to this was 740 crores. A total of ₹ 1470 crores and adhatis got ₹ 613 crores. Government institutions. FCI give this money

I want to say two points in context of what happened in Rajya Sabha –

I want to ask directly if there was quorum or not, half the people were sitting on one side then who checked the quorum?

5 to 7 people asked for division in front of me, but nobody paid heed

The new Labour code universalises minimum wages & timely payment of wages and gives priority to occupational safety of the workers: PM Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi – Prime Minister:

Long due and much awaited Labour reforms have been passed by Parliament.

The reforms will ensure well-being of our industrious workers and give a boost to economic growth.

They are also shining examples of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.’

The new Labour code universalises minimum wages & timely payment of wages and gives priority to occupational safety of the workers.

The reforms will contribute to a better working environment, which will accelerate the pace of economic growth.

The Labour reforms will ensure ‘Ease of Doing Business.’

These are futuristic legislations to empower enterprises by reducing compliance, red-tapism and ‘Inspector Raj.’

The reforms also seek to harness the power of technology for the betterment of the workers and industry both.

We have given a representation to President that Farmers Bills have been passed unconstitutionally & he should return these bills: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Ghulam Nabi Azad – Leader of Opposition, RS:

Met President on behalf of opposition parties & appealed to withhold assent to 3 farmer-related bills & return them to Parliament for proper scrutiny & discussions.

There was no division of votes, no voice voting.

Constitution was undermined in the temple of democracy.

We have given a representation to President that Farmers Bills have been passed unconstitutionally & he should return these bills.

Suresh Angadi was an exceptional Karyakarta: PM Narendra Modi

PM Narendra Modi:

Shri Suresh Angadi was an exceptional Karyakarta, who worked hard to make the Party strong in Karnataka.

He was a dedicated MP and effective Minister, admired across the spectrum.

His demise is saddening.

My thoughts are with his family and friends in this sad hour.

Om Shanti.

After fighting the spread of the pandemic, we now need to walk ahead on the economic front as well: PM Narendra Modi

PM Narendra Modi’s interaction with CMs on the COVID-19 situation. Excerpts via BJP 4 India :

Common people are unnecessarily troubled by the stopping of goods between states. This affects both people and livelihood.

We need to ensure that there is smooth coordination between states. Constant monitoring will help in continuing the supply chain

Even during difficult times, India has fulfilled the needs of the world with life-saving medicines. In such a scenario, we must ensure seamless transport of medicines from one state to other

After fighting the spread of the pandemic, we now need to walk ahead on the economic front as well. Our attempts together will be successful

Harivansh Ji’s inspiring and statesman like conduct this morning will make every democracy lover proud: PM Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi – Prime Minister:

For centuries, the great land of Bihar has been teaching us the values of democracy.

In line with that wonderful ethos, MP from Bihar and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson Shri Harivansh Ji’s inspiring and statesman like conduct this morning will make every democracy lover proud.

To personally serve tea to those who attacked and insulted him a few days ago as well as those sitting on Dharna shows that Shri Harivansh Ji has been blessed with a humble mind and a big heart.

It shows his greatness. I join the people of India in congratulating Harivansh Ji.

Respect this gesture you have shown, Harivanshji: N Sitharaman

Nirmala Sitharaman – Finance Minister:

Respect this gesture you have shown, Harivanshji.

Your values, belief and large hearted nature make you what you are – a well rounded and cultured person.

Inspirational.

Opposition MP’s who spent the night in front of Parliament don’t need tea, they need justice: Ahmed Patel

Ahmed Patel – MP, Congress leader:

Opposition MP’s who spent the night in front of Parliament don’t need tea, they need justice

The BJP government evicted & attacked them because they stood up for farmers.

Justice is their right & they will have it.

Constitution expects those in power to offer justice, not tea

Forget about giving tea to protesting MP’s atleast give respectable MSP increase to our farmers during the country’s worst ever economic crisis, which is a direct result of your mismanaged policies

Revive state excise tax till COVID is over: Dr Subramanian Swamy

Dr Subramanian Swamy – MP, Former Union Minister:

After hearing Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Ms. Mahua Moitra on GST, I am convinced that scrapping the Jaitely-PC GST Act which as CM Narendra Modi had opposed, should be suspended because Ministry of Finance is unable to refund to States the mandatory Rs.2.3 lakh crores as per law.

Revive state excise tax till COVID is over

These laws will handover Indian agriculture, our produce and our markets to foreign and domestic agribusiness corporations: Sitaram Yechury

Sitaram Yechury – General Secretary, CPIM:

This violation of all parliamentary procedures and denying MPs the right to discuss and opine in the legislation is undermining the basic fabric of Indian parliamentary democracy.

The Modi government will not be allowed to wreck the Parliament.

Misusing the serious concerns regarding the spread of the Covid pandemic, even this constricted parliament session has been curtailed and the government is keen to bulldoze all the 11 ordinances it has issued during the lockdown period are legislated as laws.

The MPs inalienable right to voice concern and vote was trampled with utter contempt. In a highly condemnable manner 8 RS MPs, who sought a division of vote, have been suspended.

These new laws are illegitimate, illegal and the President of India must send back these legislations to the Rajya Sabha for reconsideration under Article 111 of the Indian Constitution.

These laws will handover Indian agriculture, our produce and our markets to foreign and domestic agribusiness corporations.

This immensely benefits foreign and domestic corporates to reap super-profits, imposing misery both on the farmers and the people.

The proposals for “land pooling” and legalising the contract system with benefits to agribusinesses will completely destroy traditional farming. India’s food security is at stake.

Agriculture is a State subject under the Indian Constitution. These legislations bypass the elected state governments and hence a further serious undermining of federalism, a basic feature of our Constitution.

Support & participate in the call given by the kisan organisations for a countrywide massive protest action on September 25.

I said it earlier and I say it once again: System of MSP will remain. Government procurement will continue. We are here to serve our farmers: PM Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi – Prime Minister :

A watershed moment in the history of Indian agriculture!

Congratulations to our hardworking farmers on the passage of key bills in Parliament, which will ensure a complete transformation of the agriculture sector as well as empower crores of farmers.

For decades, the Indian farmer was bound by various constraints and bullied by middlemen.

The bills passed by Parliament liberate the farmers from such adversities. These bills will add impetus to the efforts to double income of farmers and ensure greater prosperity for them.

Our agriculture sector is in desperate need of latest technology that assists the industrious farmers.

Now, with the passage of the bills, our farmers will have easier access to futuristic technology that will boost production and yield better results. This is a welcome step.

I said it earlier and I say it once again: System of MSP will remain. Government procurement will continue. We are here to serve our farmers.

We will do everything possible to support them and ensure a better life for their coming generations.

Many people moved the amendment, nobody was given a chance to speak, with which magic wand did this bill pass? We have therefore given a no confidence motion notice: Abhishek Singhvi

Congress Party Media Briefing by Ahmed Patel, Partap Singh Bajwa, Abhishek Singhvi and Shaktisinh Gohil:

No matter how much the PM or this government says that this day is very important for farmers, I would like to say that today is a black day

Ahmed Patel

This unconstitutional bill will be repealed in the Supreme Court

Abhishek Singhvi

The Agriculture Minister did not even talk to the stakeholders. You spoke to everyone but left out our farmers

Partap Singh Bajwa

Earlier they brought the Land Acquisition Act, which caused an uproar and left farmers angry. They had to take it back. They wanted to give land to the commercial sector & they couldn’t do it so they brought the law again in many states

No matter how much the PM or this government says that this day is very important for farmers, I would like to say that today is a black day

Especially in Punjab, Haryana and Western UP, the farmers who fed the country are being treated poorly. The attitude of the government with these farmers is very disturbing

The Agriculture Minister did not even talk to the stakeholders. You spoke to everyone but left our farmers

Every year, thousands of trucks with rice and wheat go from Bihar to the mandis of Punjab and Haryana. Traders profit from the MSP that should go to the farmers. Traders get the boost that the rural economy should get

The Government of India should enact a law that if grains are sold at less than the minimum support price, then the violators will be jailed, but they have not made any such provision

Many people moved the amendment, nobody was given a chance to speak, with which magic wand did this bill pass? We have therefore given a no confidence motion notice

Articles 14, 26, 28 and 67 of the list all relate to agriculture. An unconstitutional bill has been brought in, a bill that is against the federal structure. This unconstitutional bill will be repealed in the Supreme Court

It is written in our manifesto, “we will establish farmers markets with adequate infra and support in large villages.” There is mention of the agricultural commission, subsidies. You are trying to fool the country by telling them half truths

Misleading the farmers and the poor is the age old habit of Congress. Farmers are aware of its duplicity & will not be swayed by its fake propaganda: JPNadda

JP Nadda – National President, BJP:

I congratulate PM Narendra Modi Ji and extend my best wishes to all the farmers of the country for the passage of the two govt’s bills in Parliament aimed at empowerment of farmers and betterment of agriculture. I thank all MPs and political parties who supported both the bills.

Two bills passed by Parliament; Farmers’ produce trade & commerce (Promotion & Facilitation Bill and Farmers (Empowerment & Protection) Agreement on Price assurance & farm services bill will help farmers giving freedom to sell anywhere & freeing them from clutches of middlemen.

MSP was offered to farmers before, is in force now and will remain in force in future and Govt. Procurement will continue.

These legislations will play a crucial role in fulfilling Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision to double farmers’ incomes and better their lives

Now, farmer will be his own boss! He can make his own decisions!

The new legislation empowers farmers & gives alternative marketing channels including E marketing platform. Farmers can get better remunerative prices. Farm related problems can now be resolved at his doorstep.

It is Modi Ji’s government which has implemented Swaminathan Commission recommendations; given farmers “Kisan Samman Nidhi” scheme, offered farmers PM Crop Insurance scheme with low crop insurance premium and allocated ₹1 lakh crore fund for creating agricultural infrastructure.

In 2019 LS polls, Congress party stated they would end APMC market system. After these legislations, APMC market yards and MSP will continue.

Modi Ji’s govt is making better alternatives available to farmers. Why do Rahul Gandhi and Congress grudge farmers’ being empowered?

Congress party never undertook any reforms for empowerment of farmers. It neither had the time nor the will to help farmers.

Misleading the farmers and the poor is the age old habit of Congress. Farmers are aware of its duplicity & will not be swayed by its fake propaganda.

There’s no provision in the GST law to pay GST compensation to the states from the Consolidated Fund of India : FM Nirmala Sitharman

Lok Sabha gives nod to the first batch of supplementary Demand for Grants of over Rs. 2.35 lakh crores for F.Y. 2020-2021. The supplementary funds will be pushed through various schemes to revive the economy from the effects of the global pandemic. Lok Sabha also passed Demands for Excess Grants for 2016-17.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Lok Sabha reply to the debate on Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2020-21 and Demands for Excess Grants for 2016-17 :

  • Tax devolution to the states has happened without disruption till today.
  • $537.5 billion forex reserve- never ever before did we have this much forex reserve.
  • As soon as PMGKY was announced, within 48 hours the money reached into the accounts of beneficiaries. This was possible because of Jan Dhan.
  • To twist what I said & to say the centre is reneging its responsibility is an absolutely irresponsible comment for a responsible govt led by PM Modi.
  • There’s no provision in the GST law to pay GST compensation to the states from the Consolidated Fund of India.
  • Highest ever spending is happening under MGNREGA which is something even our opponents must recognise.

I request all the non-BJP parties to unite in the Rajya Sabha and oppose the Farm Bills: Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal – Chief Minister, Delhi:

All three bills of the Center will leave the farmers in the hands of big companies for exploitation

I request all the non-BJP parties to unite in the Rajya Sabha and oppose these Bills, make sure that all your MPs are present and do not stage walkout drama.

Farmers all over the country are watching you
