We are encouraging Indian oil & gas companies to develop innovative and scalable tie-ups in solar sector: Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan participated in the First World Solar Technology Summit organised by International Solar Alliance. He said:

I am happy to announce that 5 of our PSUs Indian Oil, BPCL, HPCL, ONGC and Gail India will be joining ISA’s Coalition for Sustainable Climate Action (ISA-CSCA) as Corporate Partners and will be contributing to ISA’s Corpus Fund.

Indian oil and gas companies are focusing more on green energy investments to reduce carbon footprints and are being encouraged to become participants to this solar transition.

Currently, we have 270 MW installed solar power capacity across the oil and gas operations value chain.

Additional 60 MW solar capacity will be added in the coming year. We have taken up the mission of solarizing about 50% of fuel stations owned by Public Sector oil companies in the next five years.

In line with PM Shri Narendra Modi’s clarion call for Aatma Nirbhar Bharat we are encouraging Indian oil & gas companies to develop innovative and scalable tie-ups in solar sector, which have the potential to make nationwide impact and also benefit humanity.
